Should I get a belly button peircing?

So, I'm 14, and I want a belly button piercing but I'm scared to ask my mom. Im scared my mom will say no because I have a metal allergy, so I can only wear expensive earrings, and probably belly button rings. I am also scared to ask, because I think.she might get mad at me for asking.

I always wanted my belly button pierced when i was younger. I’m 19 now and I’m so glad my mother never let me get it done. You should wait until you’re older and see if you still really want to do it.

In my experience, depending on where you live, most legitimate professional shops won’t pierce you until you’re 16 (even with parents permission). If you do choose to get it done, find an APP certified piercer. i got my belly button pierced when i was 12/13. its realy not that big of a deal so u should just ask ur mom if she says no just get it done when ur 18 no biggie. there jewelry is made out of real  metal so it shouldnt be a problem. plus if u end up not liking it in the future u can just take it out.
