Myrtle Beach vacation/things to do???

Question

Can anyone give me some fun things to do in Myrtle Beach besides the obvious. Lol 
Are there any light houses, historic landmarks, things tourists wouldn’t know about???? 
Also, fun things for families with younger kids and small groups?

For younger kids I would gon20 minutes south to either murrells inlet, surf side or Pawleys Island. These are more family friendly, less crowded beaches and more of a resort feel! It’s nice to drive up to myrtle for broadway at the beach and the market common but now with spring break and summer it’s mainly college kids everywhere!!! I would go to brookgreen gardens and the marsh walk!

Go for the dinner and a show at Pirates Voyage. It’s a very good show and the food is good also. I have seen it already but I’m taking my son there next week.

To be honest, we found myrtle beach to be extremely boring other than going to the beach. All the stores seem to just advertise weed and the restaurants weren’t very good. (Except for the pier, that was very good) 
There was absolutely nothing to do with our daughter except walk. We walked.. a lot.

I'd actually recommend going somewhere like Charleston instead if you want lighthouses and historical landmarks and things like that. Myrtle Beach is VERY touristy and a bit dirty as well. Charleston is so much prettier and cleaner and much more family friendly!

I would recommend going to River City Cafe for a burger. My family will drive 250miles each way just for a burger at lunch, and be hone in time for supper. They are amazing. 
Honestly, on a whole I’m not too impressed with Myrtle. But, that could be because everybody in my county vacations there.
