I recently found out that due to my current illness (CFS/ME) I am not allowed to donate blood and never will be, even when I recover. I'm devastated because it's something I've always wanted to do as blood transfusions saved my mum's life and I've been ill since being old enough but I obviously don't have a choice as my blood isn't safe to use :(

Just wondering how many of you donate blood? It's something I feel like a lot of people plan on doing but never get around to so if you're one of those - take this as a message to mark a date in your calendar right now to get it done!
