How would you pronounce Eames?

I’ve heard it pronounced both ways as EE-mz and as Ay-mz(like James with out the J). Me personally I like it being pronounced as Ay-mz. However my husband struggles pronouncing it that way because of the E. He sees it as I-mz 😂🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. How would you pronounce it at first glance? This would be a middle name so it wouldn’t be used/seen often.
