New to BC, what do you guys take?

I'm looking to start birth control. I get bad headaches and cramps during my period. I know some types have bad side effects like weight gain and headaches. I've been leaning towards Mirena, Depo, and Implanon for long term use (I don't plan on ever having a child) but I think I should start with something short term to make sure I adjust. Any advice? What's worked for you guys?

I liked nuvaring for convenience, but all hormonal BC makes me insane.

that's up to you. Implanon was replaced by nexplenon. it's safe up to four years and I never got a period on it. they can put a new one in after you take the rod out. it does require a small incision in upper armbut I was protected for four years and has no issues.
