Should I pay rent living with my parents?

So I’m 20. Work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day and make 12.45 hourly.....I’m saving up for my own place and college. 
If yes, what would be a good amount to pay them?

I wouldn’t necessarily pay, just help out around the house, help them with groceries etc that way you’re not being considered ‘lazy’ so to speak

rather than paying rent, just whenever they need something from the store or gas or something I pay for that rather than outright for living expenses

i think its a conversation you need to have with your parents. every family has their own view on it. in my family i didnt pay rent but id go grocery shopping and whatever food i got anyone could eat and if we were low on toilet paper etc id buy it. i would also mow the lawn and help out around house

This really is up to them. The amount depends where you live. I live in the Bay Area and rent is crazy. Me and my mom split $2700 a month for our apartment. My boyfriend has been paying rent at his moms since he graduated high school at 17. Right now they live in an in law 2 br/1 ba and just his half is $1000 a month and he gets paid 17 an hr. He still struggles but that's because the situation in our area. 
If they aren't asking you to pay rent then grocery shop for the house or cover other bills in the meantime. You should also let them know you're trying to save up so they don't think you're just spending your money lol

I moved back in with my parents after grad school, currently living with them now. We live in the Bay Area.  I’m 26 btw. They were kind enough to let me off the hook for rent, but I do pay certain things: 
1) the family cell bill ($200/mo.)
2) groceries (approx $200/mo.)
3) storage unit for myself, for stuff I had at my old apartment before I moved in with them ($100/mo.)
4) miscellaneous bills ($150/mo.)
As some other ladies have said, talk to your parents about their expectations of you. They may not want you to contribute too much so that you can save more money. On the other hand, they may want you to contribute more as you are an adult/they want to instill responsibility in you.

Talk to them and see what would be best. Maybe even just paying an electric bill or internet bill would be helpful for them and get you a chance to start organizing money so you're more prepared when you do move out.
