So, my mother and grandmother want me to try a new birth control such as an IUD. I am 18 years old, so it is my choice on what method of birth control, but my grandma is who is currently paying for that birth control. I am currently taking the shot; however, this method of birth control has caused a hormonal imbalance, causing a short temper, weight gain, and mood swings. I don’t feel comfortable with putting a rod or IUD in my body, so what should I do? I was on the birth control pill, but I didn’t have a set daily regiment so I would forget to take it every day. I’m hoping I can wait until college where I may have a better planned schedule and I could go back to the pill.
