No. You shouldn’t just wean him if he’s not ready. As someone that lets her toddlers self wean I totally get the pressures. But there is no reason to rush it and lots of reasons to continue as long as it still works for you both. Personally my minimum is 2 years. And then let them self wean as they choose. 
I’m ttc and nursing my 2 year old currently. 
I’ve gotten pregnant while nursing 2 times before. Both times I nursed through pregnancy and had a period of tandem nursing after. It’s always worked great for us. I think the bonding with tandem nursing was an easy way to reduce sibling rivalry in those early days. Best of luck!!

Also TTC while nursing my toddler. Almost 21m and weaning isn’t going to happen anytime soon because LO refuses all cups and bottles. 
I did get pregnant in Feb but it ended in MC. So it’s possible to get pregnant while nursing :)
