Eif?!

Question

We went and found out we are having a BABYGIRL💜 which we are so excited about. But we also found out she has an EIF which is echogenic intracardiac focus. Basically calcium built up in her heart muscle. Which can be related to chromosomal issues like Down syndrome. So we got a blood test done and are waiting for the results. Has anyone else been through this? They said chances are it can go away and be fine.

I didn't have this happen, but with my first they did see something ( I forget exactly what ) and they were worried she would have cystic fibrosis so they had to do a blood test on me to see if I'm a carrier ( had to wait for that and it was awful ) and I was, so then they had to test her father to see if he was and I remember it being so hard & crying about it after using too much Google and freaking myself out. everything cleared up for me too. but I think iu have to stay clam, then allow yourself to be afraid/upset, then try to accept it & plan and if it clears it clears but be prepared .

My son showed multiple markers for downs at his 20w ultrasound. One of those was calcium in his heart. It all cleared up by week 30 something and he does not have downs. Its easier said than done but try not to stress. Good luck!
