I’m 19 years old, I do live with my parents, but I’m in college and I work a part-time job. In other words, I feel like a responsible adult. I got into a relationship about 3 months ago and I decided to tell my parents and now they want me to break up with him. They think I’m “too young” to date and I should wait until I’m like 23 and I’m done with school and have a career. They also said that dating is just to find someone to marry, therefore it’s pointless for me to date right now since I’m not thinking about marriage. I feel like I’m old enough and he’s a really sweet guy and I don’t want to end it. Should I fight them on this or just break up with him?
