Hubby at first appointment?

My first prenatal appointment is tomorrow afternoon at 8 weeks exactly. (They wanted me at 9 weeks but they had a cancellation and opted to move me up.) My husband is being really great and really wants to come to the appointment. I've read about what's goes down, and not much of it sounds hubby-friendly besides the heartbeat discovery. Any insight? Did yours come with you? Did you wish he did?
