Pelvic area ... growling?

I know it sounds weird but my lower stomach and my pelvic area keeps feeling like its.. growling? It feels funny especially after i eat. Im on my period. Any ideas what's goin on with me? Is it simply just gas? Its been happenin off and on for about a week or so now.
