Sick kids around pregnancy? Thoughts?🤢

So Ive been watching my nieces and nephew for my brother and sister in law. Well all 3 of there kids are sick. Not just a little cough there but ALL running high temps there cough is awful. I am pregnant and even if I wasn’t still don’t feel like its my job to watch sick kids lol. I was around them majority yesterday and now again today. What do you think?

A case of the sniffles I'd still watch them, but high fever could be flu. No way. It's great you're so selfless and love them, but I'd personally draw a line with a fever.

You could get sick just because you were around them.
I’m currently on maternity leave (I’m a nanny for 2 girls) & the girls were sick a lot throughout my pregnancy, but thankfully I never caught whatever they had.

I am a nurse in a Pediatric ICU, and I have taken care of just about every respiratory illness this season. This includes swine flu. It sounds like you’ve already been exposed if you’ve been taking care of them, but I wouldn’t worry too much. While the flu is scary in pregnancy, the rest of the respiratory viruses are really just sniffles and snot. There’s no specific treatments for the viruses other than just waiting them and taking Tylenol for fevers, which is about all we can take for anything anyway! 😂 However my OB let me know if I was worried that I was exposed to the flu, Tamiflu is safe to take in pregnancy.

I work at a high school. Every single student and staff member just about had a cold. Once they were all better, guess who was the last one to get sick? Me.
