Rough day - IUI unsuccessful

This cycle my husband and I did our first attempt with an IUI. We have been trying for a year with no luck. I had been feeling so optimistic. Leading up to the insemunation my eggs, lining and husband's sperm looked great according to our dr. But AF showed up today and I feel very sad, disappointed and worried that I will never be a mom. Has anyone had success with IUI after the first try didn't work? Just feel like I need a little pick me up...
