Mother in maternity photos?

So my mom asked if she could be in my maternity photos with me and my boyfriend and I’m not entirely sure I want to do that.. I understand why she wants to because she didn’t get to take any when she was pregnant with me, but i have never heard of anyone doing this. Opinions would be awesome!

I voted yes because you can have just you and her for a  few.. for my maternity shot.. my husband and was only in like maybe 10.. the other 20-30 shots was whatever I wanted and mainly me.. I think just for her happiness, shes obviously excited and wants to be part of this journey.. it'll just make her feel included. but she again doesnt have to be in all of them, just some for her own keepsake.

Only if you want her in them, it’s not practical for her to be in all of them just like your SO probably wont be in all of them so I think it’s sweet,
Personally though, I would plan on doing family photos after baby is here instead.

I know a young single mom who had her mother in her maternity photos before having her daughter. She & her mom are close, but I’m not kidding, they are some of the oddest maternity photos I’ve seen.

I say yes, she doesn't have to be in them all, but that will be a great memory to have later in life for your child

at first I was thinking no way, that's not about her and there's no reason she should try to make it about her but after thinking more about it I see that you could do a few shots with just you and her and the rest being you and your husband.  I still lean towards thinking maybe you could offer a mother daughter photo shoot on another day and your husband could take them. I'm just not sure if you should feel like you need to give this to her since she's not the one going through this big change, it's you and your hubs
