Right to be mad?

Question

Is taking my baby to my parents side for Easter, then telling them i don’t want him passed around rude? Let me add my baby is less than three weeks old, i was very high risk in my pregnancy ( I’m a “brittle” type one diabetic) and not only can i not stand that side of the family but we’re in cold and flu season... thoughts?

Well, technically cold and flu season is over. But I don’t think it’s wrong to not want your baby to not be passed around. If it’s going to be a big issue you can always just skip it. Honestly as long as they wash their hands and they’re not kissing/touching/coughing in your baby’s face I don’t think there’s much risk. But it’s your kid, your rules.

I would be less worried about cold and flu season and more worried about these are my rules and what I’m comfortable with and they should be respected. My family is planning a sip and see for us after baby is here, I’ve already told everyone I don’t want baby passes around, I don’t care if it’s rude, it’s my baby - make your own babies and rules for them.

I didn't let my LO be passed around. The first few times I took her to gatherings I wore a baby carrier. She was so close to me people could only see without touching. It doesn't matter if it's no longer flu season. A lot of people don't wash their hands properly and young babies immune systems are so underdeveloped. I didn't risk it. Some babies don't like being passed around either, and then your the one who has to deal with a fussy/upset baby for the rest of the day

It’s up to you but cold and flu season is over (people are still sick but just ask people to wash hands and if they’re sick, not to hold), you being high risk has nothing to do with it nor does you being high risk?
