How long do you think you should be with your partner before ttc?

Just curious as to what you ladies think.

I believe it depends on the age of the people. If they are 18, TTC after a year isn't smart as the relationship is likely not going to work out. If they are 30, ttc after a year isn't a bad idea because chances are a lot greater that the relationship will work out. Just my opinion.

I don't know if I can estimate a time line for this. I you both have to be mentally and emotionally ready to be a parent. You need to be committed to each other as a child will keep you in each other's lives forever.

In my experience... I would say it's smart to wait until after you've *lived* together for at least a year.

It all depends on the couple really my fiance and i started trying for baby number one 6 mos into our relationship 3 mos later I found out I was pregnant we now have a 3 year old son we are getting married in October and actively trying for baby number 2

I honestly believe it all depends on the relationship and the two people that are in it. I mean I was with a previous partner for 3 years nearly 4 and it wasn't a good relationship at all, it turned very dull and we both became very unhappy! I would never have started a family with this person and this led me to have an abortion. Even though we had been together for a substantial amount of time I knew that neither of us wanted that & we knew we wouldn't be together forever! Abortion is something I never thought I would do but if I were to look back at that now & where I am today then it's those brave decisions I made that led me to be where I am today and I wouldn't change the place im in with the amazing man I am with today for the world. We had known each other for years but one night it was just different. We literally just bumped into each other one night and from that moment, omg, we just knew! I knew that he was where I needed to be and who I would start a life with! Sure enough we started TTC pretty early on, we went through a miscarriage scare & from that moment we just both knew it was what we wanted! We've now been together for a little over a year, we live in a beautiful home and most importantly I'm 35+3w and we're expecting our little boy to be here on or around the 22nd July (which needs to hurry up)! - I don't think there's a time limit, when you both know you're ready then you just know! We couldn't wait to start our life together a year ago and now we can't wait to start the next part of our journey and bring our little man into the world! 😍🌻

When we ttc, we'll have been together for 8 years and married for 6. Whenever you feel it's right!

I feel it all depends on you and your relationship. I already have a 3year old from a previous relationship (missed a pill). My partner and I have been together for 2years next month. He has been the only and main father figure in my daughters life since then. Because of that, I already knew he would be wonderful father, for the way he accepted my daughter was his own right from the start. We decided ttc a year and half into our relationship.
