Was it wrong for me to sprint?

Question

We were at a family BBQ and one of my nieces (2 years old)  was sitting on the end of the slide. Another bigger kid was coming down the slide quickly and didn’t know she was down there. 
Quickly, and not really thinking, I sprinted over like maybe 15 feet and grabbed her off before she was kicked down. 
My MIL got super pissed off that I was running while pregnant and got super angry at me. I’m 4 months along. And it got into a family argument. 
Am I over reacting? I was honestly just concerned about my 2 year old niece.

You’re pregnant, not disabled. People do full on workouts while pregnant. You’re fine. Now, I wouldn’t go lifting a whole house full of furniture up and down some stairs or anything.. but you’re good. She needs to chill

It depends on the pregnancy. In a high risk pregnancy probably a bad idea. But in a normal pregnancy no.

people work out and there's mom's out there that even manage to do yoga while pregnant. like hello you just saved  your niece from having a nasty boo boo

Lol... it’s actually recommended to walk or jog during pregnancy. You did nothing wrong just an overalls protective mother. My in laws yell at me every time I stand in step stool or breath in a direction they think I shouldn’t, I just roll my eyes and tell them I do what I want lol

My (extremely fast) dog broke his leash and took off down the block when I was about 6/7 months. I had to sprint to recover him. I’ve never been so glad I kept working out than that moment (Crossfit and spin the entire pregnancy). You’re fine, your baby is fine, tell your mil to go lie down with some cold compresses since her blood pressure and stress  levels seem to be elevated.

Really!? I exercised throughout my pregnancy including running and weights and had a perfect pregnancy and baby! Your MIL is completely overreacting.

Girl, I take the public commuter train to work daily and have had to sprint to catch it every now and then...most recently at 36 weeks. Worst thing is the pelvic pain if you're to that point but your baby is fine...its not like you ran a marathon.
