Vivid dreaming?

What would you classify as vivid dreaming...it's kinda a dumb question I know but I usually dream a few nights a week...except this morning...I fell asleep on my couch and woke myself up to a weird dream about a little girl I use to babysit several years ago...this dream just feels different than any other dream...

Just very real-feeling and detailed dreams. I find them very hard to wake up from... I actually had a dream last night and for some reason I had a mint tic-tac in my mouth and I could actually taste and smell it as if it were really happening. I'd say so far the dreams are one of the worst parts of the experience, but most of them are scary.
