Baby shower gifts from a new mom

Did anyone else start giving people different gifts at baby showers after having a child of their own?

Before, I would gift a couple cute outfits I saw, or a little toy or something that would come in handy (like one of those pillows that helps tummy time & such).

Now, my brothers girlfriend is pregnant and her baby shower is coming up soon so my ideas for gifts are much different! I wanna get a little health care kit for baby (bunch of diaper rash ointment, thermometer, gripe water, gas relief drops, stuff like this) at my baby shower I got this stuff from one person, my cousin’s wife who works in a daycare and just knew this stuff would come in handy. I already had a thermometer and diaper ointment but I was surprised not many people got that stuff as baby shower gifts! I was also thinking about making a care package for her for when she’s home after birth (stuff for those homemade pads to stick in the freezer, bunch of ibuprofen/typenol, mesh undies, baggy sweats or leggings and a baggy shirt, an extra can of the numbing spray and anything else I can think of that I LOVED after giving birth- any recommendations?)

I just find it a little funny how my gift ideas have completely swapped!

Same with baby birthday parties. 😂
