How many times a day do you feed your baby baby food/finger food? And what do you feed them?

Cereal? Baby food?
My MIL says my son would sleep more once I start giving him more finger food. Is this true?
Or should I try cereal before bedtime?
My son wakes up twice to eat so I’m just looking for ideas.
I breastfeed.
I feed him cereal in the morning and he usually breastfeeds every 2-3 hours and then baby food at 6 and try to get him to bed at 8 but he usually wakes up an hour later

if you're not giving your child "human food" what kind of food are you giving them?

It’s not true that it helps them sleep longer. Breastfed babies will wake more and is normal. You don’t ‘have’ to feed solids before age 1. My son is 7m and we haven’t started yet but will gradually start soon with some avocado. Mixed studies on starting with cereals and carbs. Google is your friend :)

I'm doing BLW and some pureed foods. I try and feed him once a day but lately my schedule has been really busy so some days we skip. So far he's had bananas, carrots, avocado, celery (those are mostly for teething/gnawing on lol), and blueberries. I give him half a banana cut into quarters, two carrot quarters (boiled until soft), and two avocado strips. He maybe eats 10% of what I give him.

I try to feed solids 3x a day and I’ll give him a snack in between. My LO isn’t sleeping through the night but when he wakes up He will whine a little bit and I’ll give him my boob and then he stops.
