marriage

I ask my partner of 4 years what he thinks of getting married.. his answer is always idk or I dont want to be married... I always ask why out of curiosity... I just tell him that i would like to be engaged but not marry right away like wait many years still and have a very small backyard wedding. ps I think it does have to do with the fact his half sisters and mom hate me
