7 week old eating constantly
Everything I’ve heard or read said that it’s normal, but I can’t help but think he’s eating so much. He’s eating 4 oz every 2-3 hours, never goes past 3 hrs, even at night. He gets super fussy and the only thing that will calm him is eating again. Just wish he would spread out the feedings a little more to give me a break. It takes him 20 minutes to finish a bottle, and the doctor said we should keep him upright for 20 to 30 minutes after eating for his reflux, and the times that I need to pump too afterwards I feel like I never get a break. Because then I’m right back to the next feeding. I hope this is just a growth spurt, and he’ll sleep a little longer or go a little longer in between feedings. I barely have time to eat or shower, let alone sleep for more than an hour at a time. I’m constantly either feed him or pumping. Part of me wants to stop pumping all together and just go to formula to make it easier. But I have such an oversupply that I would feel guilty depriving him of something that I am more than capable of providing. My husband helps once in a while when he’s home, but he works all day and feel bad waking him up at night to help since he needs to sleep to be able to focus at work and hopefully get this promotion that he’s been trying for. I’m a nanny so I know how hard it is taking caring of children, but it is also so different now that it’s my own. For one I can’t give him back at 6pm and go home and have a quiet, restful night. And two, this whole being the milk supplier is a whole other level of demanding and stress. Sorry for the rambling, I just needed to vent. Can’t wait for the days he sleeps through the night!
