I was told to lay baby on his back but he nearly choked on his wind! so i lay him on his left side now is that okay??

Priemee baby is 2 weeks and a few days old and had burped him after his feed before sleeping,he breaks winds in his sleep as well beautifully on his left side,but because everyone keeps pestering me about laying my baby on his back he nearly stopped breathing because of a wind choking him😭, I now lay baby on left side or right side i will be avoiding the back for now!

I’d follow doctors advice. Premies are more susceptible to SIDS. Laying them in their back helps prevent SIDS. Babies have a natural instinct to turn their heads to the side if needed.

It’s completely your decision he’s your baby but there’s a reason they say back is safer. 
My baby had bad wind and would vomit in his sleep, I would freak out and had many sleepless nights but my Dr told me that babies are very good at throwing their heads around to get it out. Very rare to choke but not impossible but the risk of SIDS is much higher if baby doesn’t sleep on their back. 
But as I said it’s your decision but I would follow the advice from the drs etc.
