When do you plan to stop swaddling?

We are currently using a woombie. At 2.5 months with my first daughter we stopped swaddling because she hated it. But this baby loves it! When are you all planning to
stop? And how are you going to transition baby?’

He can only sleep in his rocker so I don’t swaddle him. If he’s on a flat surface he has to be swaddled but he always manages to get his arms out and ends up waking up in less than an hour. The sacks and everything else isn’t tight enough so he will still wake up. Been trying to put him in his bassinet during the day since I don’t mind him taking short naps so he will sleep better at night! He’s starting to last a little longer now.

I stopped swaddling my LO at 2 months.  He started turning over from his back to front so it was no longer safe and he just didn't enjoy it as much anymore, he wanted his arms free, he began struggling and trying to break out of it at that point. He was actually breaking out of the velcro swaddles. So really, there is no right time to stop and every baby is different. As long as your LO continues to enjoy it, can't roll over, and can't break out of it then continue to swaddle for as long as you see fit. 😁

I’ve been having a hard time with my little guy because he was rolling both directions at two months and still had his startle reflex of course. You aren’t supposed to swaddle once they can roll but I did for a couple of weeks because he kept waking himself up! Though I was a worried mess and barely slept because I kept checking on him. He is 3months now and I’m using the swaddleme lovesack with his arms out. He is harder to get to fall asleep but also much safer. I find him all over his crib in the mornings but he sleeps through the night 😅 the extra pressure of it wrapped around his chest makes him comfy I think. I’ve tried putting him to sleep without it but he wakes up in less than an hour ☺️

I believe the directions on the swaddlers say that once baby can roll over to stop swaddling.

it's recommended to stop as soon as they start rolling over. people have told me to swaddle thier hands because they scare themselves with thier hand moment at night so I still swaddle my almost 3mon old but she ALWAYS takes her hands out lol

Our little man didn’t mind the swaddle but around 1.5 months he always wanted his arms free and would always manage to get them loose. That made me nervous due to suffocation risks so I started using a sleep sack. He loves them!

My LO is 9 weeks and is starting to bust out of her swaddle more and more, and wiggling all over her pack n play. My SIL swears by the Baby Merlin Magic Sleepsuit and I've been testing it out for naps. Basically we're going to see if she'll go down and stay asleep and if not, wait a bit and try again. The swaddle we use now is a Halo Sleep Sack so we can try that as a transition too with one or both arms out.

I stopped swaddling at 2 weeks because he didn't like it. he would always break out or cry when I swaddled him and I found he slept better and longer when he wasn't swaddled.
