Did you get to hear the heartbeat?

Question

I went to my dr office yesterday for first ultrasound ar 9.5 weeks.  Baby measured fine and had heart rate of 169.  I was disappointed in the fact that when I asked if we get to hear the heartbeat the tech explained that they don't do that anymore.  Did you get to hear the heartbeat or no?  I'm trying to determine if this is now common practice or may be unique to my dr office.

We don’t get to hear the heartbeat until 13 to 16 weeks . I won’t even see little one until the beginning of may because they don’t do ultrasounds until 12 weeks

I only saw mine, they said they don’t listen to it there.  I went at 8 w 1 d.

I’m almost 10 weeks and have been twice and have SEEN the heartbeat both times but I haven’t heard it. Every doctor is different. And as long as doc says baby is ok then I’m a happy momma.

I was able to hear mine at my 7 week scan. It may just be your doctors office. I’d be furious if they didn’t let me hear mine.

I heard the heartbeat at 6w1d ..I would go crazy if I didn’t hear anything..maybe it’s just that office

I didn’t get to hear it at my scans, I asked the BPM but they said they don’t measure that there ...

I heard mine at 7 weeks 2 days. Wei d she told you that. It’s right there on the machine. She measured it so all she had to do was play it for you. Strange. I don’t think that’s a new thing.

I had my appt at 8 weeks on the dot & saw baby- (tv) scan & also got to see and hear the heartbeat. next scan is a real ultrasound sound- scheduled for 12 weeks.

I had an appointment when I was 6w1d. I saw and heard the heartbeat. It was faint but I could hear it. My doctor isn’t seeing me again until I’m almost 12 weeks because she won’t do another ultrasound until then for the Downs test and she said she won’t be able to hear the heartbeat with the doppler and there’s no need to upset me.

I had another scan done today at 9wks1day and i heard it. Might just be the office.
