With the increasing over dose deaths the Surgeon General is recommending the public to carry the life saving drug narcan. This is the article from CNN.

I think the opioid epidemic is out of control and Im personally on the fence about the public carrying around narcan. I think more needs to be done to ensure that an OD victim gets the true help they need above and beyond narcan. That it should be mandatory that every life saved by narcan has to do a mandatory year in a specific rehab facility thats solely used for OD survivors. I think its just prolonging opioid use to save a life just so they can repeat the use that caused the OD. For every 911 response for an OD there are other emergencies having delayed responses. Addicts lives matter and so does everyone else. More needs to be done above and beyond narcan.
