Hi everyone, my name is Simone and I'm 15 years old. In December, I went to the doctor to get some antibiotics for a cold that had been raging for three weeks. My doctor went to feel my lymph nodes to see if they were swollen, and noticed that there was a large amount of swelling on the right side of my thyroid. She ordered an ultrasound and blood work to test for an under active thyroid, or hypothyroidism. After a lot of googling, I realized I had many of the symptoms; off body temperature, weak hair an nails, irregular menstruation, constant shaking, and many signs of anxiety and depression. Fortunately, it was very treatable, just a little messing around with medication an I should be fine. That was until I got my ultrasound results back. I have a 4cm nodule (aka tumor) on my thyroid. I got a test to see if it was cancerous, and the results came back negative, but since the nodule is so large, the tests aren't for sure. I have to go in for surgery later this month and I'm terrified. I just wanted to know if anyone on here has gone through something similar. If you have any advice at all, please, please help.
