Are Braxton Hicks painful?

I've been having a lot of them lately and they are painful, all over my stomach, and last about 3 minutes. Are they supposed to be painful?

If they’re painful, you need to call your doctor. They should be uncomfortable, but not painful

They are painful. I went to L&D; Sunday Bc my BH were painful and I thought it was the real deal. Some women just feel it differently I guess but I know I’m having them and they hurt really bad like make you bend over bad.

Is the tightening what is painful? 
Do they go away when you meet be around? 
Try drinking some more water, my OB recommends around a gallon of water a day and adding in some pedilyte or propel (something with electrolytes) 
Always call your dr or midwife if you are concerned or worried..  but if you’re having more than 4 BH in an hour you should call them.
