Clomid success ratio ???3-7vs 5-9

Question

Ladies I started today cycle day 5... Just heard there's a better success rate taking this 3-7 bs cycle days 5-9 anyone get their BFP on cycle days 5-9. Did I begin too late?

I did cd 5-9 also... got my BFP on that first cycle after having tried for 11 months...

CD 3-7 is supposed to produce more eggs at a lower quality as to where CD 5-9 produce less eggs at a higher quality. So all in all it’s pretty much quality over quantity

I’ve done both. My doctor wanted me to do 50mg, days 5-9. First round we confirmed ovulation with a progesterone check. The next 2 cycles, I did 5-9 again. Ovulated both times, but still no conception. So on my 4th round, I switched to days 3-7 and I did not ovulate. My doctor bumped me up to 100mg for my 5th round and I went back to days 5-9 because I was worried I messed it up by switching on my 4th round since I did not ovulate. I ovulated again this round, but still no conception. I’m currently taking a 2 month break and then will try one more round. Honestly I’d just stick with whatever days your doctor tells you. 
The difference is (from what I understand anyways) Clomid basically shuts off your estrogen telling your body it’s time to get ready to ovulate. When the estrogen is suppressed, it causes a rise in FSH, which causes the follicles grow. On days 3-7 you will usually have more follicles, but they may not get as big. Taking it on days 5-9 you’ll most likely have less follicles, but the ones you have may be bigger. From what I’ve read it seems that days 3-7 has the most success. I think this may be because your chances are greater for having a good egg ready in time for ovulation, because there are more follicles forming that round. Where as on days 5-9 you have less to work with and if a bad egg is released.. it won’t fertilize, even if it was nice and big. However, when I did days 3-7, I did not ovulate, but ovulated every other round on days 5-9. So it depends on your body.
