DPO confusion?

Question

When referring to testing x amount of DPO which day do you count from? First day of the window, peak day of the window, or last day of the window? Sorry if I sound stupid lol I’m just confused

If I get a positive OPK I continue to test every day until it's negative. Once I get the first negative I count that as ovulation day and the day after that would be 1DPO.
So, I you got a positive OPK today 4/6 and tested again tomorrow 4/7 but it was negative I would say you ovulated 4/7. That means 4/8 would be 1DPO. 
That's how I count it anyways since it's said that you ovulate 12-36 hours after your positive OPK so I usually just count the next day after my positive OPK as ovulation day. Sorry if that was confusing! Lol

I am not 100 percent sure if it’s the day you peak or the day you ovulate they are referring to when they say dpo. I believe it’s days past ovulation. So you count from the day you ovulated. For example my ovulation day was the 25th so I’m 10 dpo.
