Unprotected Sex?

I just got the IUD (Skyla) on Friday, March 30th, and my doctor said it was okay to have unprotected sex after a week....is this true? Or should we continue to use a condom, and how long should we wait until having unprotected sex? A week just seems very short, but I am SO ready to have sex without a condom with him. I want to be safe though...

Most sources say after one week it's safe. In my case, I was told it was effective immediatly after the insersion, but depending of the moment in your cycle when it was inserted it can be one week before it's ok.

mine told me that it immediately starts working - technically you could go home from the insertion and have unprotected sex... not that you would want to after that!

I'd say wait 2 weeks JUST IN CASE your body rejects your iud
