Pain after cervical exam?

Today I had a strep b test and cervical exam at 36 weeks - i am 3 cm and 80% effaced. Appointment was at 9 this morning - have been having horrid cramping and back pain ever since and now its 10 pm. I took a shower to see if the pain would ease and it hasn’t. I don’t remember being in pain with my other kids after pelvic exams....is this common?

sounds normal, your cervix was messed with and I'm betting you're experiencing more cervical change. I'm 34 weeks 2 days and would be stoked if I were THAT far along! I hope and pray there's change when I'm that far along and everything. my body is so done lol if you're that concerned though if definitely call your dr. they're there for a reason and always better to be safe than sorry.

I’m hoping to be that far! My next appointment is next Tuesday and I feel with all my pelvis pressure he’s about to fall out! Haha

I had pain and what I thought was significant bleeding after my test last pregnancy. It really scared me, but baby was fine. Your cervix is just really sensitive at this point. If you're worried, I'd call your doctor to be sure that it's nothing.
