Is my boyfriend treating me like his backup plan?

The past few days we haven’t seen each other because he said he was low on cash. Today he told me that he was going to a poker game with his friends. He said they might cancel the game if enough people don’t show up and then asked if I had plans. If enough people didn’t show up we could go out. I told him I was going out with friends because it seemed like he was treating me like a backup plan. I haven’t seen him since Monday.
