Do I have to be on birth control if I’m sexually active? Is it not safe to solely depend on condoms?

Condoms are pretty useful. Of course it’s always better to double up on protection (I don’t mean two condoms, but two methods). But as long as you make sure they don’t break and get plan b if they do, and he doesn’t take them off, I think they’re fine.

The average effectiveness is 85% which is more realistic. There's tons of options out there though, so it's easy enough to double up if you don't like those numbers.

when it comes to bc methods, i believe the more the merrier. however, my ex and i simply paired condoms with pulling out because i can’t be on the pill rn.

Everything is only 99% effective. I know people who have used both BC and condoms and still got pregnant. So just be careful and use what you’re comfortable using.
