Frozen breast milk and working?

Question

Going back to work soon and I have an awesome freezer stash but I'm concerned.. I don't know much about transporting milk that I pump at work... and how do I take breastmilk to daycare for lo? Thaw it and separate cold into bottles to take to daycare or what? I just have no clue about how to do any of this!

I carry my breastmilk back from work in a Medela cooler pack. I keep it in the work fridge between pumps. I actually have 2 since I pump 3 times as work which equals 6 bottles. I also have a lunchbox that I keep a ziplock zipper bag in with my pump parts so I only have to wash/sanitize them when I go home at night. 
Each daycare is different on how bottles have to be prepared. You’ll have to ask when you register. I put a piece of painters tape on each individual bottle that has my little one’s name as well as the date and time the bottle was prepared.

I just asked my pediatrician about this and she said "Feed the baby, not the freezer" meaning I should give daycare what I pumped the day before because that's the right amount that she needs. I said okay well, what should I do with my freezer stash then? She said to use it at home, when I stop nursing or whatever. We have a chest freezer so it's good for a year but we're still figuring out transportation as well. 😕

I give the daycare pre-prepared bottles. General rule is 1-1.5 oz per hour, so probably 3 oz every 2 hours or 4 oz every 3 hours. I freeze whatever is left over from the previous day, and use fresh for daycare. On Fridays, I freeze everything and use the oldest milk in the freezer for Mondays. I transport in coolers, and use a wet bag (bought on Amazon) to put my pump parts in. I put them in the refrigerator at work between pumps. You'll get into a routine with time.

definitely talk to the daycare..my lo's daycare asked for 1 bottle since they clean it after every use & we gave them 40plus frozen bags of breast milk.they warm it up as needed to give to her.i pump at work &put; it in storage bags but when i pump at home i bottle it..the storage container the person showed works great i have it too :)

Check with your daycare on how they want it. Most daycares require milk to come prepared so I would thaw it, put it in bottles then number the bottles from oldest to newest milk. My daycare will warm it up ( my baby only likes warmed milk).
