How many of you believe it takes a village to raise children?

You can do it alone but it’s easier with a village. My husband took a job out of state and we moved like 8 hours from our closest family. The first year was rough. I am a stay at home parent because of it. His parents just moved here and let me tell ya. It helps so much.

I think it greatly depends on the couple/family. We live 3,000 miles away from friends and family. We have no one but each other where we currently live. And I love it. We haven’t had any issues with it and I just couldn’t live super close to family and all that. Just not appealing to me lol

I do... my parents live like a mile away and trust me that's the best decision I made for my baby... they do drive me crazy and get me to run some errands but its all worth it... 
I can leave her with them without a care with her grandparents when I go to office or have some work at bank or like passport office.. she will be bathed, fed, spoilt silly and mostly asleep peacefully by the time I come back.. I don't have to worry about the day care and how someone may mistreat her/ignore her... she is under loving supervision all day.. also she isn't ignored when I am working from home and am on a client call or something... she has someone playing with her anytime of the day... and I saved a fortune on daycare... I mean like literally.. 
Not that I can't do it alone, I have a full time help as well... but I just love that she bonds with her grandparents and my sister... also she loves her grandparents and  generally I read somewhere tagt kids who bond with loads of people as babies turn out to be lesa likely to develop mental health issues like depression and anxiety..

My family is all over the world so we are alone raising our daughter in Canada and Mexico (we go back and forth throughout the year) You make it work when it is just you and your partner but man it is great when we are with family they are so helpful! I think it’s great to be able to family near by to help out but it just isn’t our life.

Mine & my husband's families are an hour away. Just close enough that they are always there for the big things and can do days trips whenever, but just far enough that we don't see them ALL the time. I know that my husband and I could do it on our own, but it is nice having family close by.
