Are you okay with random strangers touching your hair?

My very first day of high school I vividly remember someone in my class grabbing my hair and running their fingers through it while saying, "Wow! You have a lot of split ends!" (I did have a lot of split ends at the time because I hadn't trimmed my hair in a few months, but although what she said was true, I wasn't comfortable with her just touching my hair.) Being the shy person I am, I was too nervous to pull my hair away so I just sorta went with it. Since I had been fortunate enough to have gone to private school before then and had never had someone do that to me before, I just assumed it was a public school thing. After telling a friend about it and seeing their reaction, however, I'm not so sure anymore. So tell me, how do you feel about random people coming up to you and touching your hair?
