should I be upset?

I'm on day 5 of clomid today. first round. I've had 3 miscarriages so we are trying this out to possibly beat the numbers game. my significant other has low count, slow, occasionally abnormal sperm. he drinks and chews tobacco. both of those can harm counts. do I have the right to be upset ? he thinks, we've been pregnant before, just can't sustain, so his counts have worked enough. I figure, wouldn't we want to potentially increase his counts for a better shot? by him lessening his habits for the next couple weeks definitely wouldn't hurt. right? I want all the good odds we can find.
