My husband’s friend puts me down. But he does it subtly to where it’s hard to call him out. When we first met he asked what my parents did for a living and I told him and he goes “that’s ok, that’s just the kind of jobs you can get in a small town.” Then one time he made fun of my home state at a wedding. Then one time he was asking me questions about my degree (MBA) and he’s like “did you even get anything out of the program?”

My husband doesn’t find any problem with his comments. We don’t have to see him very much but it’s the principle of it. I feel like your spouse should be bothered when you’re being put down by their “best friend”.
