Stopping work before baby?

Question

I want to make my Last day of work next Friday (I’ll be just about 37 weeks). I’m just tired and want sometime before the baby comes and my job is somewhat physically demanding and becoming too much. Would my doctor give me a doctors note to say I can stop working without a problem? I’m not getting paid maternity leave at all so that’s not an issue.

My doctor said she could write me out starting at 36 weeks. I'd call and ask!

If you are in 🇺🇸 then you could apply for FMLA. I’m sure your doctor can sign it off. Most doctors are very helpful at this point and don’t mind making a note regardless of FMLA elegibility

in Canada we can take up to 12 weeks before baby is due, that's considered to be the start of your mat leave. I'm working until 37.2weeks, last day will be this Friday! 🙏🤞 some people say its early,  it I'm a FTM and would like to get stuff done around the house and be relaxed. so I think your choice is fine.

I had an appointment today and told my doc I want my last day to be 5/4. I will be 37 weeks then. I too just want time to take it easy before baby comes.

I literally just tell my doctor im to exhausted to work anymore and he gladly signs papers. Also will be off on unpaid leave. I made it til 37 weeks with my son, 36 with daughter and will be 36 weeks on April 18th with this baby, thats my last planned work day. Nice to have some me time before baby comes and get caught up on everything at home

If you take leave early and are only allowed 12 weeks of FMLA, then that time takes away from you bonding with baby.
