My six year old little girl had a clump of dry skin on her scalp. When I went to clean it, some of her hair came out with it. What could that be?

I washed her hair directly after and then rubbed some coconut oil on the area. It’s a bit red in the spot where I found the clump of dry skin at.

it could be scalp psoriasis. it’s happened to me and my sister. she’s lost clumps of her hair where the scabs have been. if you take her to the dr they might give her some prescription shampoo

It could be cradle cap too. Just take her into her check up and mention it.

I have psoriasis on my scalp. I get the clumps of dried skin. Best not to pick it at even though you want to. She can get special shampoo from the doctor but they have good ones at target.
