Is Melatonin safe to use while pregnant?

I'm 19 weeks. Having a hard time sleeping. Anyone use melatonin?

Id take unisom, doxylamine succinate (25 mg/dose) one. It's safe for pregnancy

I take doxylamine succinate (known as Restavit/restamine where I live). It really helps - it’s hard for me to wake up in the mornings! It also reduces nausea throughout the next day which is great. I wouldn’t take anything without discussing with yiur doctor first.

On my list it says to use Tylenol PM. I think melatonin isn’t recommended because it’s a hormone that should be naturally occurring in the body and if you supplement it for yourself while pregnant then baby will get it too and won’t ‘learn’ how to produce that hormone for them self. If that makes sense.
