My MIL thinks my baby is too cold??

Question

Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought it was normal for babies hands and feet to be a bit cold? 
Every time my MIL comes over she grabs my 4 month old daughters feet and mentions how cold she is and wraps her up in a blanket. Annoying but whatever.

So yesterday MIL called my husband while he was at work because she was SO concerned about my daughters temperature. It had obviously been bothering her for a while. She mentioned how every time she’s over the baby is never “wrapped up” and always in just a onesie.

Sorry but have YOU ever tried keeping socks on a baby?? My kid spits up basically constantly so she’s usually in just a diaper or a onesie during the day. But a lot of the time I have her in a sleeper considering how often she goes for naps! 
I just can’t believe how greatly concerned my MIL was about this. I’m sure it comes from a place of love but what happens when we start making actual parenting decisions that she doesn’t agree with?

That is super annoying and I can relate to the overly concerned MIL. Shake it off girl. You know your kid best. My son is always hot (even though he regularly has cold hands and feet like me and my husband.) people always try to “warm him up” and I tell them to stop because he overheard easily.

My mother is like that and I just kindly (sort of) remind her that I know my child and can tell if she's hot or cold. I also tell her if she would like she could go get it cause I'm fine with what she has on. btw I'm also known for kinda being a smart ass so my advice may or may not work for everyone

all I put my baby in is a onesie...my little pooh will get hot very quick and start sweating so I don't dress her too warm. it's your baby and you know how to use your mommy instincts. you've been taking care of your baby long enough to know if baby were too cold or something. sometimes MILs just need to learn how to not over step their boundaries.

I think it’s their generation. But I personally dress my baby really warm and she keeps socks on. We learned in our class that typically babies need one more layer than we do to be warm. But every baby is different and as the mom you know your babe

Babies can’t regulate body temp so their hands and feet’s will probably be colder. As long as the middle of their back is warm, I think it is fine. But seriously, my baby could have ice cold hands and feet and then his back is sweating 🤷🏼‍♀️. Luckily my mother in law understands because she went through that with my fiancé lol

Baby girl won’t keep her hands under the blanket in the car so her hands are cold when we go to visit my mother in law. My MIL always wants to crank the heat up even though baby girl is dressed warmly. One day I told her what temp we keep our house and she was shocked. We dress for the weather and are not cold.

My Grandmother in Law is the same. She always grabs her hands to kiss them and says how cold they are. The other day it was like 75 out and she had a little dress on and leggings, no socks. She grabbed her toes and said they were cold. It annoys me so much because I feel like she's criticizing my parenting but I know she's just being a grandma. I usually tuck my daughters hands in her blanket before we get there to warm them up so she can't say anything. I get some serious dirty baby looks from my daughter for it. She HATES having her hands contained lol. But oo well grandmas and moms are always going to mom.
