First OB appt?

What's the latest you've ever gone/heard of going for your first ultrasound/OB appt? When I went in for my test they wanted me to come in during my 8th week but said they normally schedule between 8-10wks. I'm concerned because they couldn't get me in before the end of the month which is when my current insurance runs out. I'm not sure how long it will take for my new insurance to kick in, so I may be 12 or 13 weeks before I can even be seen. The nurse didn't seem to care so am I just overreacting? Shouldn't I be seen sooner? Or does it not matter?

They should be able to fit your schedule, even if it's a stand by appt. my advice to you is to call a few offices, besides if they already rubbed you the wrong way is that a place you really want to stick with? My dr fit me in the same week Ali took an OTC test, and he's super popular in my area, so that speaks volumes of his practice. The nurses are great, and he's great, you shouldn't settle.

I was a little over 10 weeks thanks to insurance changes. I just took prenatal vitamins I bought from Walmart and read what I could to educate myself.

8 weeks is the norm.  I had my first appointment at 8 weeks, NT scan at 12 and next OB at 12, then every 4 weeks I had an OB.

My first apt with my second (current pregnancy) was 9 weeks and first ultrasound was 13 weeks. My first apt with my first was 5 was and first ultrasound 8 weeks. Depends on the OB.  Personally, I wouldn't have an ultrasound done proir to 7 weeks, the chance of them not finding baby or heartbeat would freak me out.
