Is getting induced more painful?

I’m getting induced tomorrow and I’ve heard that it makes your contractions more painful than if you were to go into labor naturally also that dilating is going to be a longer process. Is this true? Can you tell me about your personal experiences please and thank you 😊

so what typically happens is, you get pitocin which brings on contractions stronger and closer together than your body will naturally produce. This usually results in women opting for an epidural. the epidural will slow down contractions so they usually have to give you more pitocin. the more pitocin they give you, the more strain is being put on your baby.

Yes, it is true. potocin makes contractions very painful because there is no slow build up like with natural labor. I've went into labor naturally and had to have it to speed things up. twice.

I got induced with my first because my water broke but I wasn’t dilated and it was horrible and ended in a c-section after 38 hr of active labor and not dilating past a 5 I had a catheter and a tube pumping water in me because my water was gone for so long and on oxygen finally we decided it was to much and needed a c-section.... this isn’t always the case tho so good luck and I hope you have a safe delivery

I was induced at 39 weeks 3 days due to hypertension. I checked in at 8 pm on March 25th. I was supposed to start with a cervical softener but I was contracting enough on my own they started the pitocin and I went to sleep. My OB came in on the 26th to check and she was pissed they started me on pitocin, especially since I hadn't progressed. She stopped that and gave me a cervical softener. Checked me 4 hours later and I was 2 cm, baby was 0 station. She broke my water. That's when it started getting crazy. The contractions came on hard and fast. I mean back to back and super intense. I was planning to go all natural but open to an epidural if needed. I labored like that for 4 hours. Crying, begging the contractions to stop, vomiting, tried the tub that didn't help. Nothing helped. So I called for the epidural. I was 5 cm when I got it. An hour and a half later I was 10 cm and ready to push. An hour of pushing later and baby girl was here. Might have been less time but she came out face up and tore me pretty good. I was expecting a much longer labor because shes my first, I was induced, I got the epidural, and because a nurse even told me I was in for a long induction. Active labor only lasted about 6 hours. I was shocked. All in all it was a good experience, minus the tearing. I was still able to love my legs but I couldn't feel anything. They stopped the epidural early enough I was able to feel the full experience of pushing and birth. They even had me pull baby girl out on the final push which was a really cool experience. We instantly did an hour of skin to skin and then 30 mins of skin to skin with my fiance while I showered.

I was told that getting induced gives u a harder labor I was induced and I would not recommend it if you can help it

I was induced and they said it could take days, but it took about 24 hours. my contractions didn't start till hours after I was put on pitocin and I had an epidural that made it better. 
but over all I had an "easy" delivery.

I was induced on a Friday morning and gave birth on the Sunday night. Contractions started Saturday morning and they broke my waters Sunday lunchtime. I didn’t have an epidural just gas and air. Can’t say if it’s more painful though as was my first baby. I’m hoping to not be induced this time around!!!
