Am I pregnant?

Having increased nausea for the past two weeks or more and I started my period but it’s very light and normally in super heavy in flow .nausea still is there and comes and goes sometimes but is worse more times than others times me and my boyfriend have had a lot of unprotected sex. I took a test yesterday afternoon because everyone kept telling me I should take one and it was negative should I wait a while and test again and make sure I test in the morning time or brush it off and just assume I’m not pregnant?
