So I had mine for roughly 3 weeks before it expelled meaning it was starting to push back through my cervix. They had to remove it and won’t do another because the chance of it happening is a lot higher. so I’m currently on Nuvaring. But of course your doc will go over all the other possible risks. I just happened to get that one. Insertion wasn’t terrible it just hurt more through the rest of the day. I recommend getting up and walking a bit it helps the cramps. Be prepared when you stand up blood might run down your leg on to the floor (gross). My cramps lasted a few days so did the spotting. But this just depends on the person it can last up to 6 months. I was able to have sex the week after and had no issues. Just remember to wait a week before having completely unprotected sex because it takes a week for it to become effective if it’s hormonal that is. Hope this helps
