Cyst or period?

So yesterday I was in the hospital because I was in so much pain. They did a ultrasound and said I have a cyst that’s to big and need to follow up with my OBGYN. I’m due for my period tomorrow but last night I got sharp pain and started bleeding. Today the bleeding is a lot. I was wondering is it the cyst popping or the start of my period??

Since my cysts formed after coming off the pill my periods have been sooo painful - gradually increasing each month. I will probably book another docs appointment as they said if my cycle didn’t return to tonal to let them know and they’d monitor the cysts I have (they picked these up on abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds). I had a cyst burst and that was like an appendix type pain radiating from ovary to groin/top of leg with dizziness, nausea and sickness which lasted about 8-12 hours.

period for are I get cyst but they don't make u bleed

maybe just your period. I get cycst a lot and get those sharp pains they normally go away on their own but I have never had bleeding from it.
