Blood test results?

Does anyone know how long it takes do get a blood pregnancy test results back? I got it done last Wednesday and I called my Dr's today and they said the results aren't in yet? I didn't know it took this long, I am now 1 week late.

I had a blood test for pregnancy and was told within the hour while i was still in the office.

I believe I read 24 hours on hcg draws in my doc office but some places take a week.
